Stream Cares: Texas Charity Done Right

When people living in and around the city of Houston were confronted by the destructive powers of Hurricane Harvey entire neighborhoods found themselves sitting in nearly five feet of water. Of the many companies that hurried to respond to calls for help, Stream Energy was among the first, providing financial support and ease up on charges to customers living in affected areas, helping people in need recover from this natural disaster.

Stream Energy has long supported an internal culture that has leaned towards contributing to philanthropic organizations. Charity has become part of their daily business, and has led to the creation of Stream Cares, a charity that looks to partner with others that aid in causes that line up with their goal to help Texans and all Americans.

As a business, Stream energy benefits from Stream Cares as well. By using the company name, it stands out in the energy industry and in the wider public eye as a charity that is sincere in its consideration of communities that surround them and the people who live there.

Stream Cares has invested into developing that reputation by working with influential organizations like the Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity and developing partnerships that can affect enduring change over a period of years. Both in Texas and across the country.

An example of this is their partnership with the Hope Supply CO. Both have invested a great deal of interest in addressing the rapid increase of homelessness in the state of Texas. Their event, a Splash of Hope, allowed more than a thousand homeless children to spend a day full of food and fun at a Texas water park. The day ended with the children receiving financial and material support that could benefit them and their families.

This kind of charity is fairly common among corporations in the US, but not in the state of Texas, which is seen as one of the least charitable in the entire nation. Kimberly Girard, Senior Event Manager for Stream Energy, sees this as an opportunity to continue to do good while influencing other companies to do their part in helping their communities.

DACA Members Finally Breath -The Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin Frontera Fund Intervention

Have you ever been charged with something that you felt you were innocent about and never deserved punishment? It can be very frustrating and devastating. Having no say in such moments can be very sad. If you have no one to fight for your rights and convince the court otherwise, you may have to face the consequences.

This is why philanthropists have taken the role of ensuring that they are the voice of the minority and secluded in the society. Every society has their set of humanitarians who make sure that justice and equality for all prevails. The philanthropists, therefore, play a vital law in the state.

This does not mean that humanitarians will help every convict from facing the law. They have their policies on who they should assist.

DACA Foundation is such an organization that fights for civil, immigrant and human rights. Mostly, the firm specializes in the immigrant rights. This is because some immigrants that the authorities demand be deported are technically the USA citizens. Despite the lack of the legal documentation, they have a right to stay in the country.

The DACA ensures that their members get an additional two years to stay in the country. In this two years, the member can complete their education and others can acquire legal document to remain in the country. In case the member needs more time, they have the option of renewing their memberships. Read more: Village Voice Media | Wikipedia and Phoenix New Time

DACA has benefited very many immigrants. However, the firm is currently facing some difficulties. This is as a result of the Texas Attorney General allegations saying that DACA does not have the supporting documents. These claims were seconded by nine more officials.

Following this development, the firm is unable to recruit new members in their association. The foundation is also not allowed to renew memberships. This is until the situation is settled with the authorities.

This has led to massive sadness and worry to the dreamers. Their grief has doubled after Kelly’s announcement. Kelly said that the DACA foundation is still struggling to gain stability. Despite the constant efforts, the officials have not been able to curb the situation.

The Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin Frontera fund has promised to help intervene to assist in setting things right. The Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin fund support organizations such as DACA who fight for civil, human and immigrant rights.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin began their funding foundation with the money they got after winning the case of the Sherriff. They invested the money in helping the immigrants. The initial and majority of the beneficiaries are from Arizona.

The intervention of the Frontera fund in the situation has restored peace to the dreamers. The Frontera fund is to give a guideline to the foundation on how to go around solving the issue.

The Frontera fund aims to solve the immigrants’ problem permanently and ensure that the DACA institution gains stability.

The Arizona members are very angry with the Texas AG and his nine officials for their attempt to close down the DACA foundation. They view it as a sign of being unappreciative and greedy.

Front Page Confidential Brings Larkin and Lacey Back to the News

The Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund has been supporting the Latino community in Arizona since 2014. The fund finances Latino groups that advocate for migrant rights, in an attempt to curb the unfair treatment of the community in response to illegal immigration. The tactics used that unjustly focus on Latinos are the result of the tenure of ex-Sheriff Joe Arpaio. During their stewardship of Phoenix New Times and alternative conglomerate Village Voice Media Larkin and Lacey relentlessly dogged the Sheriff. Advocates for the first amendment, the news duo was attracted to Apriao for his questionable methods in enforcing immigration laws. Their feud with the Sheriff eventually ended up with the duo being jailed for 24 days, in response to the printing of a confidential subpoena in their byline. The arrest sparked outrage that led to their eventual release, and the wrongful arrest case that garnered them $3.75 million dollars. Following the sale of Village Voice Media, and the settlement of their case in 2013, the duo formed Frontera Fund in 2014. Now Larkin and Lacey have produced a new alternative media source, website Front Page Confidential. The counterculture website has been running since early 2018.

Front Page Confidential continues the mandate set by Michael Lacey back in 1970, to offer an alternative news source that upholds the First Amendment. The articles will focus on the stories not told, and will give voice to those unheard of. The site comes at the best possible time as Joe Arpaio has been recently pardoned and now plans to run for Senate. Larkin and Lacey will assuredly be right behind the Senate hopeful, biting at him through exposes the entire way. Their dedication to truth and avocation for human rights keeping the fight alive.
